BugWise is an Australian Museum - Rio Tinto Partnership project supported by the Coal & Allied Community Trust designed to compliment Australian Museum research by enabling communities to help test new methods measuring environmental change.

The BugWise resources and accompanying workshops developed by the Museum will enable local community groups and land managers to take part in ecological research. Conservation Volunteers Australia are coordinating all community involvement in the project.

BugWise is pilot project currently being trialed in the Hunter Valley, New South Wales. Communities from other regions of Australia are encouraged to be involved, but at this stage support workshops will only be available in the Hunter Valley.
